Dr. Omar Abdulfattah is a highly trained pulmonologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of lung and respiratory conditions. He is part of the Pulmonary and Critical Care team with SIU Medicine.

 

Dr. Abdulfattah earned his medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Mosul College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Interfaith Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine at the same institution. He also pursued advanced fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at NYU Langone Hospital Long Island and in Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Abdulfattah serves as an Assistant Professor and Associate Residency Program Director at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He brings a deep commitment to teaching and mentoring future physicians as part of his academic role.

 

Dr. Abdulfattah is board certified in Pulmonary Disease, Sleep Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine, demonstrating his comprehensive expertise in addressing complex respiratory and sleep-related health issues.

He provides personalized care for adults dealing with a range of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung infections, emphysema, sleep-disordered breathing, and other respiratory concerns.

 

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Abdulfattah is dedicated to advancing respiratory health through both patient care and medical education.
