Patrick McGuire Named CCO

Pana Community Hospital is pleased to announce Patrick McGuire, FNP has accepted the position as Chief Clinical Officer/Nurse Executive at Pana Community Hospital.  McGuire will begin his duties at PCH on March 6, 2023.  “I am thrilled to join PCH!” McGuire stated.  “I was drawn to Pana Community Hospital because of its mission of serving the community.  The hospital truly prioritizes the health of its neighbors, growing up in a rural community myself, I resonate with the mission.”  McGuire will take over the position held by Vickie Coen, who will retire April 1st. 

McGuire grew up in St. Joseph, IL and graduated from St. Joseph-Ogden High School in 2006.  He began his nursing career at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL where he worked as a preceptor and charge RN.  In 2015, he started practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care and cardiology at Carle, OSF and Oak Street Health.  He was the Lead Clinician at OSF overseeing the Urbana/Champaign/Savoy region and most recently took the role of Medical Director for Oak Street Health in Peoria.

McGuire received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Bradley University and a Master of Science in Nursing at Olivet-Nazarene University.  In 2022, he received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.  He holds two national board certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Nurse Executive through ANCC and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.   

Patrick is married to Alicia who is a professor of Political Science at the University of Illinois.  They have two children.  In their free time, he and his wife enjoy being outdoors, going to sporting events (specifically U of I) and traveling (especially to Disney World).
