SalaryRange: $18.08 - $21.70 (Based on Experience)
Description:
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Provide compassionate, professional, and courteous patient care while ensuring patient comfort.
- Verify patient identification and ensure accurate collection, labeling, handling, and distribution of specimens.
- Follow established hospital and laboratory policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and properly stocked phlebotomy area.
- Assist patients with timed and sterile urine collections and perform throat cultures using proper techniques.
- Demonstrate knowledge of blood collection procedures, needles, anticoagulants, and special specimen handling requirements.
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to support efficient workflow, quality patient care, and timely laboratory services.
Requirements:
- National Certification in Phlebotomy
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Phlebotomy experience required
- Computer experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and patient relations skills
