Pana Medical Group
The Pana Medical Group with locations in Pana, Nokomis and Ramsey have temporarily closed as we initiate appropriate infection control measures following a positive COVID-19 test of a PMG staff member as of July 22, 2020. All staff members have been quarantined and are currently being tested as per protocol from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Upon notification of the positive case within the clinic, the Practice Manager was in direct contact with IDPH and Chris-Mont EMA (Christian-Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency). They are all closely working together to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Contact tracing efforts are currently ongoing by the Christian County Health Department. ALL patients who were in contact with the staff member will be contacted by the health department to determine their level of exposure, quarantine requirements if any, and possible testing guidance. If you have been at the facility recently and are not contacted by public health, your COVID-19 risk would be considered very low. No further action would be needed by you at this time. While the office is closed, additional cleaning and disinfecting will be completed in accordance with all CDC/IDPH guidelines. Pana Medical Group follows strict safety standards and clinical protocols to keep patients safe during this time of community spread of the coronavirus. As always, the safety of our patients and staff are our TOP priority.
As a reminder, COVID-19 is an active virus in Christian and surrounding counties. Pana Community Hospital, its’ physician clinics, and all our affiliated providers encourages recommendations from the local health departments, Chris-Mont EMA, and the Centers for Disease Control which include social distancing, frequent hand washing, and wearing of masks while in public or when social distancing is not possible.
People with COVID-19 have reported a wide range of symptoms-ranging from mild to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Individuals, who think that they may have contracted COVID-19, should notify their primary care physician. If the individual does not have a primary care physician, they should contact their county health department for guidance at 217-824-4113. People with these symptoms, as identified by the CDC, may have COVID-19:
● Fever or chills
● Shortness of breath
● Muscle or body aches
● New loss of taste or smell
● Sore throat
● Congestion or runny nose
● Nausea or vomiting
